On behalf of the Syrian Democratic Council and the US Mission of the Syrian Democratic Council, the US Representative Sinam Sherkany Mohamad congratulates the American people and the US Administration on Independence Day on the Fourth of July.
As Americans celebrate, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) stands with the people of the United States while they remember their struggle against tyranny. We are not only the staunchest allies of the United States in the fight against ISIS and global terrorism, but we seek to establish a nation based on democratic principles, free from tyranny, as the United States did so many years ago.
The principles that the American people remember on Independence Day are the same principles that we have fought for — democracy, freedom, and dignity. We aspire to build a new democratic system in the Middle East, based on human rights, equality, and community empowerment, with protections for people of all religions and ethnicities.
The true spirit of freedom rings across the ocean, the mountains, the farm fields, the deserts, and the orchards of Syria. Let freedom ring for all Americans, all Syrians, and all people of the world.
