Yesterday, Turkish fighter jets and drones conducted a series of airstrikes against several targets near Shaddadi, south of Hasakah in North-East Syria.
An SDF military position, housing for civilian workers, and a civilian vehicle transporting local shepherds were all hit.
In total, 16 airstrikes targeted the region, killing four SDF members, six civilian workers, and two shepherds.
The region south of Hasakah, near the town of Shaddadi, has seen a surge in ISIS activity, and is also home to a Coalition base where US forces are present and coordinate with SDF troops against ISIS cells.
Despite ongoing negotiations between the transitional government in Damascus and the Autonomous Administration and SDF, Turkish forces have continued daily attacks on civilian and military targets in North-East Syria, causing hundreds of civilian and military casualties, as well as extensive damage to the region’s infrastructure.
